Description

Day 1: Río de Janeiro: Copacabana

Welcome to Rio! Get a private transfer to your hotel with guided assistance and spend your first night in mesmerising Río de Janeiro!

Day 2: Río de Janeiro: Sugar Loaf

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel before we head out for a half day private tour to the famous Sugar Loaf mountain (around 4 hrs).

We begin at the neighborhood of Urca which features one of the largest symbols of the city: the Sugar Loaf. This visit is made in two steps by cable car. The first cable car takes passengers to Urca Hill which is 215 meters high, from where you’ll have a beautiful view of the Guanabara Bay and its islands, the Rio-Niterói bridge and Corcovado hill. From this stage, a second cable car will take you to the top (395 meters) to find a splendid view of Copacabana beach, the Santa Cruz fortress and some beaches of Niterói. After that, you’ll return to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at your own leisure.

Day 3: Río de Janeiro: Corcovado

After breakfast we depart for a half day private tour to Corcovado, the most beautiful postcard image of Rio de Janeiro since 1931: The Christ the Redeemer statue located at Corcovado mountain, 710 meters above the sea level, which can be seen from many parts of the city. This tour begins at Cosme Velho neighborhood, from where the cog train starts the trip up to the statue, through the Tijuca Forest. Once there, you’ll see the panoramic and extraordinary view of Rio including the Sugar Loaf, the Guanabara Bay, the beaches of Southern Zone and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon…

Day 4: Río de Janeiro: Paraty

Today we head to Paraty, a lovely perfectly preserved 17th century town that is not too far away from Rio. The historical center is made of narrow streets paved with giant cobble stones. Local houses and hotels are all composed of white stucco with brightly coloured shutters and doors. Vehicles are banned and the wealth of art galleries, shops and restaurants are explored by foot.

Day 5: Paraty

Start your second day in Paraty with a walking tour (2 hrs) to explore the history of this town and its harmonious architectural ensemble from the XVIII century. The tour includes visits to the churches (Matriz, Santa Rita, Rosario and Das Dores), and the outside view of museums, culture houses, colonial houses and ateliers (entrance fees are not included but can be arranged upon request). At the end of this tour, you’ll return to your hotel to do whatever you feel like on your last night here…

Day 6: Paraty: Departure

Enjoy a good breakfast before your guide transfers you back to Rio de Janeiro airport – or not, if you decide to stay a bit longer!
