You will then transfer to Diani to check in at your Beach hotel. Time to enjoy your free leisure time.

Day 3: Wasini Island

Wasini Island is known by many as “paradise on earth”, it is a great escape and getaway, located in the heart of “real” Africa and on the edge of Kenya’s Swahili coastal strip. Kisite Marine Park is known as the “home of Dolphins” which is your main attraction today. Your adventure today is all about “Dolphin spotting”.

Lucky for you, 3 types of Dolphins are found around on Wasini Island; Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphins, Indo-Pacific Humpback Dolphins and Spinner Dolphins. You can also spend an amazing day on this beautiful Island with awesome activities like snorkeling, Scuba diving, and Dhow sailing. Of course, all these activities are done in an Eco-friendly manner to promote a more sustainable planet and so you have to keep in mind that there is a policy stipulating the code of conduct while spotting Dolphins. Please be sure to abide by the policy.

Day 4: Ramisi River

Today, you will take another Eco-friendly and adventurous  trip to Funzi Island to spot the aquatic giant – The Nile Crocodile. The Ramisi River, which empties into Funzi Bay, is home to quite a few Nile crocodiles. While these are originally sweet water dwellers, they have developed tolerance to brackish water. They are shy animals, except when they are on the hunt! As you make our way deeper into Ramisi River, the impenetrable mangrove forest on both river banks come closer and closer together until they almost touch!

Mangroves are saline tolerant trees that grow in many tropical habitats and there are about nine species of mangroves found in East Africa. Their submerged parts provide a nutrient rich spawning ground for fish and other marine life, while above the water line they offer a protective habitat for a large variety of birds.  This will be an amazing full day on Ramisi River spotting Crocodiles, followed by a visit to the surrounding community with lunch on the Kinazini Island! Late afternoon return to your beach hotel.

Day 5: Day at the beach

In the morning, right after breakfast,  you will be transferred to the a North Coast Beach Hotel due to your early departure the next day on the SGR. This a perfect day to spend relaxed day the beautiful beach of your hotel.

Day 6: Mombasa – Nairobi

Early morning transfer to SGR terminal to board your morning train MSA – NBO departing Mombasa at 07.015am and arriving to Nairobi at 13.30pm. Once back, you’ll drive straight on to Lake Naivasha. Lake Naivasha is a beautiful Freshwater lake fringed by thick papyrus.

The Lake and its surroundings are rich in natural bounty. Most of the Lake is surrounded by forests of yellow barked Acacia or Yellow fever tree. The Forest abounds with bird life which makes it the best birding destination. The lake draws wild game like Giraffes, Buffalo, Colobus monkeys and, most fascinatingly, a population of Hippos sleeping the day out in the Lake’s waters.

Day 7: The Crescent Island

Your journey of discovering and watching the aquatic giants continues! The Hippos! Hippos are the main attraction at Crescent Island Game Park in Lake Naivasha. Crescent Island is one of the most beautiful parks in Kenya and Naivasha’s best kept secret.

Crescent camp has a biodiversity of animals from birds to Hippos who graze all over at night and can be found sleeping under the acacia. From your lodge you will take a boat to Crescent Island.  Enjoy a walk at Crescent Island with your professional guide and watch the Hippos in the calmness of their habitat. In the evening you will take your boat back to your hotel.

Day 9: Lake Naivasha – Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Maasai Mara is an open grassland where 95 species of mammals, amphibians, reptiles and over 400 species of birds currently live.  The annual ‘Wildebeest migration takes place in this park between July and October. The Eco-system of Maasai Mara holds one of the highest lion densities in the world and this is where over 2 million Wildebeest, Zebras and Thomson Gazelle migrate every year. Nowhere in Africa will you see more abundant wildlife than in Maasai Mara.

Day 10: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

The Nile Crocodile (Crocodylus Niloticus) is the largest fresh water predator in Africa. The Nile crocodile mostly hunts within the confines of waterways. It will attack aquatic prey or terrestrial animals when they come to the water to drink or cross.  Today you will visit the Mara River to discover this amazing and unique predator which leaves no chance for its prey when hungry!

So today, you’ll spend most of your time on Mara River which is also the crossing channel of the Wildebeests Migration. Depending on the time you are visiting and if a crossing is taking place, you might just experience a tactical kill by this glorious predator! Once done, you’ll visit the typical Maasai village to explore its rich culture and indigenous habits; you’ll participate in a Maasai Jump with the Morans so you might want to practice and ensure you jump the highest as the winner will be offered a glass of milk prepared the traditional way!

Day 11: Maasai Mara – Nairobi

On this day, early in the morning, you have an option of going on a hot air balloon Safari while enjoying a Champagne breakfast (optional at an extra cost 400 EUR per person). After this amazing experience, you will join your guide, bid Maasai Mara “kwaheri”, meaning goodbye, and drive back to Nairobi.

Upon your arrival to Nairobi and depending on your personal plans, you can also go on a souvenir shopping adventure at the Kazuri beads factory.
