Description

Day 1: Río de Janeiro: Copacabana

Touchdown Rio! You’re finally here and we’re ready to transfer you to your hotel for an overnight in exotic Río de Janeiro!

Day 2: Río de Janeiro: Sugar Loaf

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel before we head out for a half day private tour to the famous Sugar Loaf mountain (around 4hrs).

We begin at the neighborhood of Urca which features one of the largest symbols of the city: the Sugar Loaf. This visit is made in two steps by cable car. The first cable car takes passengers to Urca Hill which is 215 meters high, from where you’ll have a beautiful view of the Guanabara Bay and its islands, the Rio-Niterói bridge and Corcovado hill. From this stage, a second cable car will take you to the top (395 meters) to find a splendid view of Copacabana beach, the Santa Cruz fortress and some beaches of Niterói. After that, you’ll return to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at your own leisure.

Day 3: Río de Janeiro: Corcovado

After breakfast we depart for a half day private tour to Corcovado, the most beautiful postcard image of Rio de Janeiro since 1931: The Christ the Redeemer statue located at Corcovado mountain, 710 meters above the sea level, which can be seen from many parts of the city. This tour begins at Cosme Velho neighborhood, from where the cog train starts the trip up to the statue, through the Tijuca Forest. Once there, you’ll see the panoramic and extraordinary view of Rio including the Sugar Loaf, the Guanabara Bay, the beaches of Southern Zone and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon…

Day 4: Río de Janeiro: Salvador de Bahía

Last breakfast in Rio before your private driver transfers you to the airport for the flight to Salvador de Bahia!

Once you arrive, you’ll be picked up from Salvador airport and taken to your hotel where you will spend your first night in Salvador de Bahía.

DAY 5: Salvador de Bahía: Panoramic Tour

Good Morning! Get ready for a 3 hour private Panoramic tour starting with the quiet waters of the Itapagipe Peninsula, where the first holiday residences were built. Now a peaceful family district , life moves at a slower pace than the bustling upper city. Fishermen fish from dug out canoes, locals collect shell fish at low tide, schooners are at anchor, all protected by the famous Bonfim church, one of the most important churches of pilgrimage in Brazil and deeply syncretised with the Candomblé. You’ll continue your trip with a visit to the Montserrat district for its panoramic view of the city and then on to the Mercado Modelo, a thriving market for local artifacts. It’s time to bargain! Afterwards, you’ll return to your hotel and have the day at your own leisure.

DAY 6: Salvador de Bahía: City Tour

Your 4 hour tour starts right after breakfast in the modern suburb of Barra at the mouth of the Bay, famous for its lighthouse. You’ll then make your way slowly by car or coach to the old historical section of town, the Pelourinho area with the largest and best preserved complex of colonial architecture in the Americas; where you’ll stroll through the narrow, bustling streets lined with buildings in pastel shades of an age gone. You’ll also be visiting the church of São Francisco with it’s exuberant gold-leafed Baroque interior and the Pelourinho square, the heart of the old town. You’ll have the rest of the day just for yourself once you return to the hotel.

DAY 7: Salvador de Bahía: Manaus

Today, you’ll head to the airport after breakfast to board the flight to Manaus and then straight to your hotel for some free discovery time before the big day tomorrow…

DAY 8: Manaus and Amazon

Today, you’ll be visiting the Amazon forest today right after you’ve had a hearty breakfast. The first part will be by road, in a regular vehicle (van, minibus or bus), then you’ll continue by speed boat, passing by the meeting of the Waters phenomenon, then back to your hotel to enjoy a buffet lunch and some resting time. You are going to need all your energy for this evening’s Alligator Spotting Tour. End your night with an amazing Amazonian buffet dinner.

DAY 9: Amazon

After breakfast, get ready for a fun Jungle Trek where you’ll observe fascinating local fauna and flora. After you’ve worked up an appetite, get ready to enjoy generous buffets for lunch and dinner too! Enjoy your last night in the Amazon before you head back tomorrow….

DAY 10: Amazon: Manaus

This beautiful voyage ends with your transfer back to Manaus airport.

We aim to make sure that breakfasts are included every morning in the accommodation (except on the first morning). They are usually ‘continental breakfasts’, which are typical in most countries. A typical breakfast may consist of cereals with milk or yoghurt, bread, croissants, cold meats, cheese and a range of spreads, with fruit juice, tea or coffee to drink.

Included evening meals are in local restaurants or in the included accommodation. In most cases, table water is provided with the meals and if you wish to purchase additional drinks, you can do so at your own expense.

If you have any dietary requirements, we will make every effort to cater to your specific needs as long as you advise us when you book. Please be aware that although we will do everything in our power, we cannot guarantee that every restaurant we eat in will be able to cater to all of your dietary needs. Also, we cannot cater for tastes or dislikes, as most of our included evening meals feature a set menu.
